Equal pay for women and men is the most important action for gender equality, says research.

According to the CNI, 43% of the executives interviewed cited the relevance of the measure in the labor market.

247 - Pay parity leads the list of measures considered most important for promoting gender equality in the workplace, according to an assessment by industry executives. The conclusion is part of a study released by the CNI (National Confederation of Industry) this Wednesday (8), International Women's Day, reports the FSP.

According to the organization, 43% of respondents cited pay parity as the first or second most important action for gender equality in the workplace.

President Lula's government has already prepared a draft law that prohibits wage discrimination between men and women who hold similar positions and perform similar work.

The Minister for Women, Cida Gonçalves, states that the Equality Law will not only provide penalties for employers who fail to comply with the rule, but will also create incentive mechanisms for those who promote equal pay for male and female workers.
