"Bread is life," says Alckmin during a visit to an artisanal bakery in São Paulo.

The initiative, conceived by Lu Alckmin, seeks to train workers for the baking sector and boost income generation.

247 - Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, participated this Friday (21) in the launch of the central hub of the Artisan Bakery project in the State of São Paulo. 

The initiative, conceived by Lu Alckmin, Brazil's second lady, seeks to train workers for the baking sector, boost income generation, and create multipliers who can share the knowledge acquired in their communities.

After the event, held at the Bakers' Union of São Paulo, Alckmin highlighted the importance of the project in a post on social media.

“Bread is life. Teaching how to make bread is promoting dignity, food, income, and work. This is the work I am proud to say Lu Alckmin does at Padaria Artesanal, which is launching its branch in São Paulo today. Congratulations to everyone who works on this mission that fosters love and development,” wrote the vice-president.


The artisan bakery is not a recent initiative. The project currently has more than 60 locations spread across the country.
