Padilha: Bolsonaro needs to be urgently incapacitated.

A federal deputy and former Minister of Health told TV 247 that he had never seen such minimal aid from the federal government to the states in terms of materials for combating epidemics. "It's appalling," he said. Watch.

247 - Former Health Minister, Congressman and physician Alexandre Padilha (PT-SP) spoke to TV 247 about the abandonment of the states by the federal government in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and advocated for the immediate impeachment of Jair Bolsonaro.

"Either Bolsonaro is impeached or Brazil runs a serious, very serious risk of being the country with the highest number of deaths in the southern hemisphere," he stated.

He stated, after participating in a meeting with state representatives, that he had never seen such minimal assistance from the federal government to the states regarding the provision of medical supplies during an epidemic.

"Brazil already had an economic crisis before the coronavirus pandemic began, then came the health crisis, and the political crisis deepened. Today, at the external coronavirus commission, we discussed the situation regarding PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). The question we asked was: how much was promised by the ministry to reach the states, and how much has arrived so far? It's simply appalling. I've been a city secretary, I've been a minister, and I've never seen the situation presented today by the state secretaries," he said.
