Agência Brasil – The mayor of Teresópolis (RJ), Roberto Pinto (PR), 68 years old, died in the early hours of this Sunday (7) after suffering a heart attack. He was the city's vice-mayor and had assumed the mayoralty last Friday (5), replacing Jorge Mario, who was removed from office for ninety days.
The Teresópolis City Council decided to remove Jorge Mario from office to analyze and judge accusations of irregularities in his administration. According to information from São José Hospital, where the mayor died, his body will be taken to the city hall.
Roberto Pinto, known as Doctor Robertão, was an orthopedist. The mayor was married, a father of six, and had ten grandchildren.
