In the final days of his term, Mourão will make a national address this Saturday.
Mourão also issued a decree that reduces the rates of PIS/PASEP and COFINS.
247 - On the last day of Bolsonaro's government, acting president Hamilton Mourão (Republicanos) will make a statement on national television at 20 pm this Saturday (31). Jair Bolsonaro (PL) fled to the United States this Friday (30).
Mourão also issued a decree that reduces the rates of PIS/PASEP and COFINS taxes levied on financial revenues under the non-cumulative regime.
This measure benefits investments and operations related to the high volatility of the dollar against the real.
Published on Friday night (30) in the extra edition of the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU), the measure has immediate effect. The rates are reduced by 0,33% (Pis/Pasep) and 2% (Cofins). Previously, the taxes were at the level of 1,65% and 7,60%, respectively. However, specific revenues have a lower percentage, at 0,65% and 4%. Others, more extraordinary, reach 0%.
"In this way, the aim is to reduce the PIS/COFINS tax burden on the financial revenues of companies that are in the non-cumulative system, freeing up resources so that they can expand their operations, invest and create new jobs," states the text from the Official Gazette.
