Nicolelis warns of the risks of food delivery.

One of Brazil's leading scientists, Miguel Nicolelis, warns that there is a risk of coronavirus contamination from deliveries made through the delivery system. In a post that also provides guidance on how to prevent COVID-19, Nicolelis emphasizes that "the virus can survive on cardboard containers for 24 hours and on plastic surfaces for up to 72 hours."

In the post, the scientist highlights that "the virus can survive on cardboard containers for 24 hours and on plastic surfaces for up to 72 hours!". 

"When you receive your meal delivery, empty the containers onto clean plates or bowls and dispose of the packaging immediately. Wash your hands before eating," he adds in the post. 

In several states and cities in Brazil, decrees have been issued ordering the closure of shops, bars, and restaurants, but home delivery services have been maintained. The scientist's warning also comes in the wake of Jair Bolsonaro's attempt to... minimize The spread of Covid-19 in the country.
