"In this war, the truth took more bullets than the military installations of Ukraine," says Wadih Damous.
On TV 247, the former congressman and former president of the OAB-RJ (Brazilian Bar Association of Rio de Janeiro) stated that "there are only villains in this war" and criticized the press coverage of the case.
247 - Former federal deputy and former president of the OAB-RJ (Brazilian Bar Association of Rio de Janeiro), Wadih Damous, stated to TV 247 that Russia, in the context of the war against Ukraine, has been the target of an intense campaign of defamation and distortion by the mainstream media.
He stated that "there are only villains in this war, there are no heroes," and said that the conflict cannot be divided between good and evil. "We cannot treat an event of this magnitude with the Manichean approach that the global media is using. We shouldn't. It's that old story: 'in a war, the first casualty is truth.' This applies to all wars."
The former deputy recalled that Russia, according to the official version, entered Ukraine with the mission of "denazifying" the country, and highlighted that this is what Russian troops are doing in the region of the city of Mariupol, where the Azov Battalion is located. "Today we are seeing a one-sided narrative: Russia is simply reduced to what is happening on the battlefield, and even then, with misinformation. It's not mentioned, for example, that one of the targets of the Russian intervention is the city of Mariupol, which is the headquarters of that battalion of murderers, delinquents, and far-right individuals who played an important role in the Maidan Square revolution, and the army went there to exterminate this Azov Battalion. It's as if it doesn't exist, as if it doesn't exist in the Western media. So in this war between Russia and Ukraine, the truth has taken more shots than the Ukrainian military installations."
