247 - Feminist and popular movements are holding another International Women's Day demonstration this Sunday (8). In São Paulo, women will gather on Avenida Paulista, starting at 14 pm.

Every year, men and women take to the streets to protest femicide, demand more rights, and denounce sexism. This year, the movements adopted the theme "For our lives, democracy and rights! Justice for Marielle, Claudias, and Dandaras!"

The slogan is a response to the misogynistic conduct of President Jair Bolsonaro and his followers, which has recently resurfaced on an aggressive scale. In 2020, the "8M" protests also took on the character of a repudiation of the protests called for by Bolsonaro.

In several capital cities, women celebrate International Women's Day with demonstrations.
