A woman died during an attempted robbery on Avenida Carlos Caldeira Filho, in Parque Arariba, in the southern part of São Paulo, which occurred around 22 pm yesterday. The three criminals involved in the crime fled.
Edvânia Cristina Soares, 34, was leaving her house in her silver Celta, accompanied by Mirlena Clemente Cordeiro, 38, and a 17-year-old girl, when she noticed three men approaching. Suspecting their behavior, she accelerated the car. The criminals fired at the vehicle, hitting Mirlena, who was sitting in the passenger seat.
Edvânia drove to Estrada de Itapecerica, near the João Dias bus terminal, where she asked passersby for help. Taken to Campo Limpo Hospital, Mirlena eventually died. The case was registered at the 89th Police District, but the Homicide and Personal Protection Department (DHPP) will lead the investigation.
