Brasil de Fato - This Tuesday (7), on World Health Day, the Popular Brazil and People Without Fear Fronts and the National Health Council will carry out an action of applause and “noise” in windows across the country to honor health professionals and demand more resources for the Unified Health System (SUS).

These types of demonstrations have been taking place daily in the windows of cities across Brazil against the government of Jair Bolsonaro since March 17th, when a general call was made for a strike by health and education professionals in defense of public institutions, which occurred on the 18th of the same month.

On Jair Bolsonaro's birthday, who turned 65 on the 21st, Brazilians across the country banged pots and pans, flashed their house lights, and shouted slogans such as "Out with Bolsonaro," "militiaman," and "fascist" to express their discontent with the president and the lack of effective action in controlling the coronavirus pandemic.

As on other days, protesters have resorted to projecting images onto buildings and walls to send messages of discontent and protest against the actions of Bolsonaro and the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes.

In one instance, the image questioned the veracity of the tests performed on Jair Bolsonaro, which indicated a negative result for coronavirus, and demanded the presentation of the report proving the president's health, as he is part of the at-risk group due to his age.

The Ministry of Health announced this Monday (6) that the number of deaths from Covid-19 rose to 553, an increase of 67 deaths in 24 hours. The number of infected people also rose from Sunday to Monday: from 11.130 to 12.056 cases.

On Monday (6), after a whole day hanging on the job, Luiz Henrique Mandetta, Minister of Health, announced that he will continue to lead the Ministry of Health, but maintained his critical tone towards the government of Jair Bolsonaro (without party affiliation). “We like constructive criticism, what we have a lot of difficulty with is when, in certain situations, the criticism does not come in the sense of building, but to create difficulties in the work environment. I don't need to translate this, you know exactly what I'm talking about. The Ministry of Health makes a decision and has to backtrack,” the minister lamented during a press conference.
