Movement launches manifesto 'Women Bring Down Bolsonaro' calling for impeachment.
Following the same #EleNão movement that emerged during the 2018 presidential election, the group is calling for Bolsonaro's impeachment.
247 - A group of women from various segments of society launched the manifesto "Women Bring Down Bolsonaro" this Sunday.
Following the same #EleNão movement that emerged during the 2018 presidential election, the group is calling for Bolsonaro's impeachment.
"We've already taken to the streets to say 'Those Who Love Don't Kill,' we fought for 'Direct Elections Now,' for 'Out with Cunha,' 'Out with Temer,' we said 'Not one less.' We drew from the experience of the March of the Daisies, the March of Black Women, and, in the last elections, we shouted 'Not him!' Now, we're back to warn: 'He Falls!'" says an excerpt from the manifesto.
On social media, the hashtag #MulheresDurrubamBolsonaro (WomenTake Down Bolsonaro) was launched and is among the most discussed topics on Twitter.
The group further emphasizes that the movement against Bolsonaro was responsible for preventing his election in the first round.
On social media, the group created the page "Women United Against Bolsonaro" and amassed over 2,7 million followers. However, the page was hacked, and its content was changed to "Women with Bolsonaro #17," including offensive content directed at the opponents of the then-presidential candidate from the PSL party. The case is being judged by the Superior Electoral Court, in a process that could disqualify Jair Bolsonaro from running for office.
"We, from the Feminist Resistance, along with more than 100 comrades from dozens of political spaces and different states, have signed this feminist manifesto," says the group.
