247 – In an incident whose circumstances are not yet fully clarified, construction worker Valdir Pinheiro Amaral, 31, from the Camargo Corrêa construction company, was killed around noon on Wednesday the 17th, at the Jirau hydroelectric plant construction site in Porto Velho. Suspicion for the crime falls on a co-worker of Valdir, who, according to a statement from the construction company, tried to flee but was arrested by the Military Police. In his testimony, the accused said that the confrontation was motivated by personal reasons.
In July, on the 21st, another worker at the Jirau construction site, laborer Francisco da Silva Melo, died after falling from a jackhammer.

The construction company Camargo Corrêa reports that, around 12:45 pm today (August 17th), the professional Valdir Pinheiro Amaral, 31 years old, was killed by a co-worker after a confrontation motivated by personal reasons.
After the incident, the assailant tried to flee, but was apprehended by the Military Police of the State of Rondônia, who were immediately contacted by the company.
Camargo Corrêa regrets the passing of the professional and informs that it is taking the necessary steps to support his family and collaborate in clarifying the incident.
