Brazil Agency - Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), stated this Monday (30) that he will not allow procedural turmoil in the course of the action on the coup plot.

The minister's statement is contained in the decision in which he denied a request from former President Jair Bolsonaro's defense team to attach documents about his former aide Mauro Cid to the case file regarding the first core of the coup plot.

Earlier, the lawyers reaffirmed that Cid lied when he stated during questioning at the Supreme Federal Court that he did not use social media to contact other individuals under investigation and their lawyers.

Information sent by Meta and Google to the STF (Brazilian Supreme Court) confirmed that the Instagram profile @gabrielar702 was created from an email account identified with the lieutenant colonel's name.

In his ruling, Moraes stated that the defense's request will be evaluated at the "appropriate time."

"As has been emphasized numerous times, procedural disruption and requests intended to delay the process will not be tolerated. The course of the criminal action will proceed normally, and the Court will analyze the issues raised at the appropriate time," he stated.

Last week, Moraes set a 15-day deadline for final arguments from the defense teams of Bolsonaro and seven other defendants in the first group of the coup plot. The Attorney General's Office (PGR), responsible for the prosecution, will also have the same deadline.

After receiving the arguments from the parties, Moraes must set a date for the trial that will decide whether the former president and the other defendants will be convicted or acquitted.
