A request for testimony from Aguinaldo Ribeiro is expected to be registered today by Congressman Otavio Leite (PSDB-RJ), president of the Public Security and Combating Organized Crime Committee – a government program accused of extorting bribes from small construction companies.
247 - Congressman Otavio Leite (PSDB-RJ), president of the Public Security and Combating Organized Crime Committee (CSPCCO) of the Chamber of Deputies, is expected to request this Monday that the Minister of Cities, Aguinaldo Ribeiro, be summoned to testify about allegations of bribery of small construction companies participating in the Minha Casa Minha Vida (My House, My Life) program.
"At this moment it will be valuable to hear from the minister, the public bureaucracy, and whistleblowers on the Commission, which has the legitimacy to summon them," said Otavio Leite, who also intends to summon Ministry technicians responsible for the program and representatives of the consulting firms and construction companies involved in the scheme.
According to Globo, yesterday the Ministry of Cities informed, through a statement released by its press office, that Minister Aguinaldo Ribeiro requested the Federal Police to investigate the allegations regarding the supposed collection of bribes and misappropriation of funds in the program.
