The Ministry of Justice confirms that Zambelli will be subject to extradition proceedings.

247 - Brazilian congresswoman Carla Zambelli (PL-SP), sentenced by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to 10 years in prison, will be subject to extradition proceedings after being arrested in Rome, Italy, this Tuesday (29). The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Justice, which highlighted that the arrest is the result of a joint operation between the Brazilian police, Italian authorities and Interpol.
Zambelli had fled Brazil after being sentenced for her involvement in the hacking of the National Council of Justice's (CNJ) systems. According to the official statement, the extradition will follow the procedures of Italian law and international agreements signed by Brazil.
"The detainee was wanted for crimes committed in Brazil and will be subject to extradition proceedings, in accordance with the procedures established by Italian law and international agreements to which Brazil is a signatory," the statement said.
