On Monday (30), the governors of the nine states of the Northeast announced the creation of the Scientific Committee of the Northeast Consortium.
The main function of the group will be to assist the governments of the region in making decisions about actions to combat the new coronavirus.
The committee will hold regular meetings with scientific authorities from Brazil and other countries, issue bulletins with figures relating to the disease in the Northeast, and disseminate guidelines based on research conducted by the group.
