Michelle comments on her relationship with Carlos Bolsonaro: "I don't want to associate with him."
The former first lady emphasized that she holds no resentment towards the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro.
247 - Former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro stated, last Saturday (8), that she maintains a distant relationship with councilman Carlos Bolsonaro (PL). Despite saying that she holds no grudges, she emphasized that she prefers to avoid contact with the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to prevent misunderstandings.
In an interview with journalist Alexandre Garcia, Michelle mentioned that the difference in personalities and the fact that she is younger than her husband were factors that contributed to their estrangement.
“We don’t talk, but I was an intercessor for Carlos. But I respect him because Jair [Bolsonaro] had two relationships and they didn’t work out. And he had that issue with me being younger, 27 years younger, and he didn’t like it very much. He has his temperament, I have mine. He has his truth, I have my truth,” she stated.
“I don’t wish him ill, but he’s someone I don’t want to associate with. I have no problem with him; I’ve already forgiven what we had in the past, my heart is clear about it,” she emphasized. “I wouldn’t want it to be this way, but he has his way and I have mine. There are some things I don’t agree with, and to avoid bigger problems, I prefer to distance myself.”
The former president had previously commented on the matter. In an interview with journalist Léo Dias, he confirmed that Michelle and Carlos do not speak to each other and, at the time, suggested that jealousy may have influenced the estrangement.
