247 - Justice André Mendonça, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), was the only one to vote to disqualify Justices Alexandre de Moraes and Flávio Dino from participating in the trial of the Attorney General's Office (PGR) complaint against Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for attempted coup d'état.

According to Mendonça, the fact that Dino filed a criminal complaint against Bolsonaro while he was governor of Maranhão would be sufficient grounds for declaring the minister ineligible to stand trial.

Nominated to the Supreme Court by Bolsonaro, Mendonça disagreed with Kassio Nunes Marques, also nominated by the former president. In the four cases on the subject analyzed by the Court, Nunes Marques sided with the majority against the requests to remove the judges.

With Mendonça's vote, the score was 9 to 1 against the recusal of Moraes, requested by General Braga Netto's defense, and against the removal of Dino, requested by Bolsonaro's defense. Regarding the request from the former president's defense to remove Minister Cristiano Zanin, Mendonça followed the majority and saw no reason for the disqualification.

Following the vote, the three ministers are expected to proceed with the trial of the Attorney General's complaint against Bolsonaro and seven other defendants, which will take place next week.
