Mauro Lopes: If the Supreme Court doesn't acquit Gleisi, they might as well shut down the institutions.

Journalist Mauro Lopes observes the contradictions surrounding the case incriminating PT (Workers' Party) president Gleisi Hoffmann; "She is accused of having committed corruption in public administration, the question is: She did not hold any public office in 2010, the date on which she is accused of committing the illicit acts. In other words, it makes no sense at all," observes Mauro Lopes; Watch the full program.

TV 247 - The program "Giro das 11", with the participation of journalist Mauro Lopes, analyzed the arbitrary actions of the Brazilian judiciary, which is conducting a veritable witch hunt against the leaders of the Workers' Party (PT), this time attempting to incriminate the party's president, Senator Gleisi Hoffmann (PT-PR).

Understand the case

The 2nd Panel of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) begins judging Gleisi Hoffmann (PR) this Tuesday (25), in Lava Jato, under accusation of corruption and money laundering, resulting from a complaint filed in 2016 by the then Attorney General of the Republic, Rodrigo Janot.

Persecution

Mauro Lopes believes that the persecution of Gleisi is the second phase of Lula's trial. "The focus now is on getting the president of the PT; the right wing is trying, as a final objective, to revoke the party's registration, arguing that PT members form a criminal organization," he analyzes.

"If the Supreme Court doesn't acquit Gleisi, everything can be shut down. After all, she's accused of corruption in public administration. The issue is: She didn't hold any public office in 2010, the date she's accused of committing the illegal acts. In other words, it makes absolutely no sense," observes Mauro Lopes.
