Mauro Cid requests discharge from the Army amid trial for coup plot.
Cid was no longer psychologically fit to continue as a soldier.
247 - Former aide to Jair Bolsonaro, Mauro Cid, has asked to leave the Army “because he no longer has the psychological conditions to continue as a soldier,” said lawyer Jair Ferreira, who represents the whistleblower, on Tuesday (2).
During the trial of the first core group of the coup plot, at the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Ferreira denied that Cid had been coerced into the plea bargain agreement and reinforced its validity.
"We do not agree with the request to condemn Minister [Paulo] Gonet. But that doesn't mean I can say he coerced me, nor Minister Alexandre de Moraes, nor the delegate," said Ferreira.
