Marina Silva is hospitalized in São Paulo with Covid-19.

The minister cancelled her scheduled appointments for the weekend and Monday.

RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) - Brazil's Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva, was admitted to the Heart Institute (InCor) in São Paulo on Saturday after testing positive for Covid-19.

Marina is doing well, but is experiencing symptoms of the illness and has received medical advice to go to the hospital and get tested, according to information from her press office.

"I am informing you that I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am receiving appropriate medical care and the symptoms are under control," the minister wrote on her Twitter account.

Marina canceled her scheduled commitments for the weekend and Monday.
