In the meetings, the minister insisted that it is not enough to simply expel illegal miners and prevent them from returning to the region. According to her, it will be necessary to recover the areas, decontaminate rivers and even people: "In some areas, four out of ten children are contaminated by mercury," lamented Marina.

Brazil considers American funding for fund embarrassing.
