The Marathon for Anti-Racist Schools will be held from October 27th to 29th.
Inaperê launches free online training to support school administrators in building an anti-racist education.
247 - Inaperê, a consultancy specializing in diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), launches the "Marathon for Anti-Racist Schools"This is a strategic, free, and 100% online training program aimed at managers of private schools who wish to take the first real step towards anti-racist school management. The event will take place on October 27th, 28th, and 29th, always at 19 PM, and will be led by guest educators and Leonardo Bento and Dedé Ladeira, founders of Inaperê and specialists in education and race relations.
The Marathon's goal is to go beyond raising awareness. It's a training program that offers practical and strategic tools for schools to implement anti-racist policies in a safe, effective, and sustainable way. Over the three days, participants will have access to real-world examples of institutions that are already transforming their practices, as well as management guidelines and concrete action plans to apply in the school environment.
“We believe that anti-racism in schools needs to move beyond mere intention and gain structure, method, and planning. That’s what we want to offer with the Marathon: a guide for those who want to start with confidence and purpose,” says Leonardo Bento, historian and founding partner of Inaperê.
Andréa Ladeira, also a historian and co-founder of the consultancy, highlights the collective nature of the initiative: “Our work is to provoke movement. When a school genuinely commits to racial equity, it impacts an entire community – teachers, students, families, and the territory where it is located.”
The “Marathon for Anti-Racist Schools” is part of a series of training programs that Inaperê offers to schools and companies throughout the country, aiming to combine academic rigor with pedagogical applicability. The initiative also reinforces the consultancy's commitment to the effective implementation of Laws 10.639/03 and 11.645/08, which mandate the teaching of Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous history and culture in educational institutions.
