Malafaia is a prophet of hate.

The god that Silas Malafaia preaches is a god of hatred, prejudice, and segregation. This god, like the pastor, should not be praised, but rather consigned to oblivion.

Among the biggest controversies of the week is Pastor Silas Malafaia's interview with Marília Gabriela. The topics covered included his alleged fortune as revealed in Forbes magazine, tithes, political involvement, and his definition of homosexuality.

During the 45-minute interview, what emerges is a prophet of hate. Hate for everything that goes against his interpretation of the Bible.

It is quite true that prejudice against evangelicals and religious people in general also exists. But it is also a fact that a large number of pastors (priests as well) harbor religious hatred and all kinds of prejudice. All wrapped up in a discourse that seems to have been developed in the Middle Ages.

Arguing that "no one is born gay," Malafaia is waging a "holy war" against homosexuals. The same line of reasoning applies to faith. No one is born Christian – whether Catholic or Evangelical – Buddhist, Muslim, or a follower of any other belief.

Regarding the nonsense spoken by Malafaia about being born gay, geneticist Eli Vieira Cambridge, in the United Kingdom, deconstructed each of the pastor's arguments in a video released on YouTube – click here

Malafaia is still engaging in argumentative acrobatics with the Constitution to justify aggression against homosexuals. Verbal violence and prejudice are not freedom of expression. It's a crime!

The distortion of human history is unparalleled. It seems like a "summary" of editorials from major newspapers, even if they were written for the entire planet and had been since the beginning of time.

Malafaia even has the audacity to accuse Islam of "horrible radicalism."

Regarding the political participation of evangelicals, he uses atheism as justification for the anti-secularism actions of the State. A secular state is not an atheist state. Atheism is not even a religion. "If atheists can participate in politics, evangelicals can too," the pastor stated.

It's true, everyone can and should participate in politics. But they cannot seek to build a theocratic state, regardless of their religious affiliation. This is the practice of the evangelical bloc in Congress. And the influence of religion hinders and distorts debates such as the legalization of abortion in Brazil and civil unions between same-sex couples.

To worsen the "holy war" against what they call heresy, they are forcefully entering the media, even circumventing previously granted concessions. Channel 21 of Bandeirantes is the best example. 22 hours of its airtime are sublet to the World Church, which, according to Folha de São Paulo, bought CNT and Channel 21 itself.

Malafaia himself has a paid advertising slot on television channels in Brazil.

There are no TV programs about Candomblé or Umbanda; or Islam, or Judaism. Although Globo is Judeo-Christian. Not in the philosophical sense, but rather in serving the interests of the Jews of Israel and the Catholic Church.

If the mass preaching of religious values, whatever they may be, whatever the religions, through public concessions, is not a transgression against the secular nature of the Brazilian State, then nothing else is.

People have the right to have and practice a religion, and that's a settled point, but the State is for everyone, regardless of faith. And this can only be guaranteed through a secular state.
