The information is from IstoÉ report.
"On December 16th, Malafaia was the target of coercive measures in Operation Timothy. The operation's name is based on one of the books of the New Testament of the Bible, the first epistle to Timothy. In chapter 6, verses 9-10, it is written: 'Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction, for the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.' The Federal Police transcribed this passage in the judicial representation that gave rise to the operation. Apparently, according to delegate Leo Garrido de Salles Meira, author of the indictment, Silas Malafaia succumbed to temptation. Now, the pastor, a proverbial herald of morality and good customs, will have to explain to his faithful followers why he succumbed to the sins of the flesh."
The investigation revealed that a check from Jader Pazinato's law firm, in the amount of R$ 100, was deposited into Malafaia's account. According to the Federal Police, Pazinato allegedly received illicit funds diverted from city halls and passed on bribes; therefore, he was also indicted for active corruption and embezzlement. The indictment means that the police authority found evidence to characterize the occurrence of crimes. In addition to Malafaia, the Federal Police indicted 49 other individuals, including the former director of the DNPM (National Department of Mineral Production), Marco Antônio Valadares, and Alberto Jatene, son of the governor of Pará, Simão Jatene.
