The Minister of Social Security, Wolney Queiroz, stated this Thursday (18) that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) ordered absolute rigor in the investigations into fraud at INSS (National Institute of Social Security). The statement was made during an interview on the program Bom Dia, Ministro, on EBC (Empresa Brasil de Comunicação), according to UOL.

According to Wolney, Lula's order was clear: ensure that all those responsible for irregularities are punished. "The President of the Republic expressly recommended that I go to the furthest extent in the pursuit of those who defrauded and harmed retirees," said the minister.

Extensive investigations

The investigations are mainly focused on irregular deductions from benefits and embezzlement schemes that affected retirees and pensioners. Wolney assured that there will be zero tolerance for fraudulent practices. "We are certain that the investigations will be thorough," he emphasized.

Government promises to protect retirees and pensioners.

The minister emphasized that the government's priority is to restore confidence in the INSS (National Institute of Social Security) and ensure that retirees and beneficiaries are not harmed by illegal practices.

The presidential decree strengthens the current administration's line of defense, which aims to shield policyholders against new scams and abuses.

Wolney states that the investigation will be thorough and transparent.

By publicizing Lula's recommendation, Wolney Queiroz signaled the government's commitment to conducting the investigations thoroughly and transparently. He assured that the work is already underway and that all evidence of fraud will be investigated to the end.

With this, the federal government seeks to demonstrate firmness in defending Social Security and protecting millions of Brazilians who depend on the system to guarantee their income.
