247 - President Lula (PT) wants to have at least six meetings with governors this year, according to... CNN BrazilThe Workers' Party member already has a meeting scheduled with six state governors on January 27th at the Planalto Palace, where he will appeal for a national pact for the good of the country. Starting in March, these meetings are expected to take place every two months.

According to the broadcaster, the Executive team will present the new government structure during the first meeting, as well as the goals of each ministry for the first 100 days of government. The states will also present their agendas. Some are considered urgent, such as compensation for losses in revenue from ICMS (a state sales tax) on fuels and the resumption of stalled construction projects.

Lula's stance is significantly different from that of his predecessor, Jair Bolsonaro, who, in addition to creating conflicts with several governors, did not hold regular meetings with state leaders and preferred individual meetings.
