Lula says that 'if Fux doesn't want proof that Bolsonaro attempted a coup, that's his problem'.

Reuters - President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stated that there is extensive evidence that former President Jair Bolsonaro attempted a coup d'état in the country, and that it is a problem for Minister Luiz Fux of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) if he does not want to consider it, according to TV Band.

"First, Bolsonaro tried to stage a coup in this country. He tried to stage a coup. There are dozens and hundreds of pieces of evidence, of acts, of speeches, of written material," said Lula, in an excerpt from an interview with Jornal da Band broadcast this Thursday.

He also reportedly said, according to Band, that "if Fux doesn't want the evidence, that's his problem." The full interview will air on Thursday night.

The First Panel of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) has been judging Bolsonaro and seven other defendants since last week for attempted coup d'état, criminal organization, and violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, among other crimes. According to the Attorney General's Office, as well as the rapporteur, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, and his colleague who followed him in the vote, Minister Flávio Dino, there is sufficient evidence for the conviction of the former president.

However, Justice Luiz Fux opened a wide dissenting opinion and voted to acquit Bolsonaro of all charges.
