Lula says rape is an unforgivable crime and defends punishment for Robinho.

"Robinho has already been convicted in Italy and should already be serving his sentence here," said the president.

247 - In an interview with SBT, President Lula argued that former soccer player Robinho should be punished in Brazil for the rape accusation. "Everyone who commits the crime of rape needs to be imprisoned. People need to learn that sexual relations are not just the desire of one party. It's the consent of both parties that's at stake. A man who commits this type of crime collectively and still thinks he didn't commit it? Shame on him. Rape is an unforgivable crime," he stated.

"People have to be judged and condemned for this. Robinho has already been convicted in Italy and should already be serving his sentence here. Now he will be judged in Brazil and I hope he pays the price for the irresponsibility of being a young man who had more opportunities than 99% of young Brazilians, who earned a lot of money, and who did this to a girl," he added.
