247 - The Minister of Labor, Luiz Marinho, stated this Thursday (27) that in the coming days President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will sign the provisional measure with the minimum wage of R$ 1.320, valid from May.

"We're going to send it in two formats. [The increase in the minimum wage to] R$ 1.320 will go through a provisional measure [to the National Congress], and the permanent increase in the minimum wage will go through a bill," said Marinho after a meeting with Lula.

According to the minister, the proposal for increasing the minimum wage uses the same formula adopted in the past governments of Lula (2003-2010) and Dilma Rousseff (2011-2016). The formula takes into account the inflation of the previous year and also the variation in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from two years prior.
