Lewandowski will be the rapporteur for the case regarding Bolsonaro's coronavirus tests at the Supreme Court.

The lawsuit filed by the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo argues that the STJ's decision, which exempted Bolsonaro from showing his medical exams, "interrupted the free circulation of ideas and versions of the facts, blocked the oversight of the actions of public officials by the press, and stifled freedom of information."

247 - Supreme Court Justice Ricardo Lewandowski was chosen by lot to be the rapporteur for the case in which the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo is requesting the suspension of the decision by the president of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), João Otávio de Noronha, which exempted Jair Bolsonaro from presenting tests performed to detect the coronavirus.

The newspaper appealed the decision, arguing that the measure "interrupted the free circulation of ideas and versions of events, blocked the oversight of the actions of public officials by the press, and stifled the newspaper's freedom of information."

Prior to Noronha's decision, the Federal Court of São Paulo and the Regional Federal Court of the 3rd Region (TRF-3) ruled in favor of the right of access to Bolsonaro's test results, considering that information about the health of the President of the Republic is in the public interest.
