BRASILIA (Reuters) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on Monday, after a meeting with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, that the countries will make efforts to expand collaboration in the energy sector, especially in peaceful nuclear energy.

During a statement following the meeting in Brasilia, Lavrov also said that the two countries are reaffirming constructive cooperation, which, according to him, does not depend on changes in the international situation.

The meeting between Vieira and Lavrov takes place amidst the war between Russia and Ukraine, which began in February of last year.
