The court approves the occupancy permit for the completion of the Bahamas project.

The São Paulo court granted an injunction to businessman Oscar Maroni, known for his work in the adult entertainment industry, allowing his establishment to operate, arguing that the municipality cannot make technical-administrative decisions based on moral principles.

Fernando Porfírio _247 - The tug-of-war between Mayor Gilberto Kassab (PSD) and businessman Oscar Maroni is over. The Court of Justice of São Paulo decided, this Wednesday (30), to overturn the administrative decision that denied the Habite-se for the completion of the Bahamas hotel and nightclub, in the south of São Paulo.

Maroni is known for his work in the adult entertainment industry, livestock farming, and hospitality, as well as being the editor of Penthouse and Hustler magazines. He is also most notorious for his controversies and for owning the Bahamas Night Club, a luxurious adult entertainment venue in São Paulo.

The São Paulo court granted an injunction to the businessman, allowing the establishment to operate. According to the court, the municipality cannot make technical-administrative decisions based on moral principles.

Dressed casually and wearing earrings, Maroni stood out from the formal atmosphere of the court's Special Body, which in the same session was considering the case that would decide the future of four judges accused of jumping the queue for multimillion-dollar advances. Impatient with the delay in the judgment of his appeal, he strutted about.

Maroni filed a writ of mandamus in court claiming he had a clear and certain right to obtain the document guaranteeing the operation of his new luxury home. He stated that he had obtained all the necessary technical opinions for the continuation of the construction, including those issued by the City Hall itself.

However, once the renovations were complete, the city's ombudsman denied the occupancy permit necessary for the building's occupation. According to the businessman, the case was taken over by Mayor Gilberto Kassab, who, on his own initiative, denied the permit. The argument given by the head of the Executive branch for the embargo was that the location would be used for "immoral activities."
