247 - Federal deputy José Guimarães (PT-CE), leader of the government in the Chamber of Deputies, was admitted this Sunday (27) to the Sírio-Libanês Hospital, in São Paulo, where he will undergo heart surgery. The information was released by the parliamentarian himself through his social networks.

According to a note published by Guimarães, the procedure is scheduled for Monday morning (28), at 10 am, and will be carried out by the medical team coordinated by doctors Roberto Kalil and Fábio Jatene. “I thank you in advance for the affection, prayers and understanding of everyone. As soon as possible, I will return with good news,” he wrote.

According to the congressman, the hospitalization is part of a planned process. In June, Guimarães had announced that he was preparing for a "heart procedure," with surgery scheduled for early July.

As leader of the government bloc since the beginning of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's third term, Guimarães is one of the Executive's main negotiators in the Chamber of Deputies, working on strategic agendas with different parties.
