Itaú suspends two employees with coronavirus.
Upon noticing the symptoms, the employees contacted the company and have since been at home, without contact with other colleagues. The bank recommended that those with scheduled trips replace physical presence with remote communication methods, or postpone their travel dates.
Reuters - Itaú Unibanco reported this Wednesday (11) that two of its employees were diagnosed with coronavirus. According to the bank, upon noticing the symptoms, the individuals informed the company and, since then, have been at home, without contact with other colleagues.
The bank also stated that it is instructing employees who have recently returned from travel to countries on alert or who have had direct contact with suspected or confirmed cases to pay attention to whether they have symptoms of the disease and, if so, to seek the nearest health service and follow medical advice regarding care and isolation period.
Furthermore, in areas of the bank where working from home is possible, employees who have been to these countries or have been in contact with suspected or confirmed cases, even if they do not present symptoms, have been released to work from home for 14 days.
For those with scheduled trips, the bank recommended replacing physical presence with remote communication methods or postponing the trip until there is an improvement in the disease control and treatment situation.
According to sources familiar with the bank, one of the cases is at a call center in the city of São Paulo. The other is in Maceió (AL). The bank declined to comment on the location of the confirmed cases.
Brazil has now recorded 52 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus. The data comes from a platform of the Ministry of Health, updated with data as of early afternoon this Wednesday.
