Haddad maintains dialogue with bankers regarding the economy.
Some of the agendas of the former mayor of São Paulo coincide with those of the sector.
247 - Former São Paulo mayor Fernando Haddad (PT) maintains ongoing dialogue with bankers, despite resistance from some business leaders in the sector to his name.
During the election campaign, he met with Luiz Carlos Trabuco of Bradesco, Joaquim Levy of Safra bank, Pedro Moreira Salles of Itaú Unibanco, André Esteves of BTG, and representatives of Santander bank, among others, reports the journalist. Monica Bergamo in Folha de S.Paulo.
This week, Haddad's advisors intensified talks with banks and brokerage firms, aiming to overcome resistance to his name should he be nominated for the Ministry of Finance. These advisors claim that Haddad is direct, yet predictable, and has a vision that coincides, on several points, with that of the economic sector.
Another advantage cited by his supporters among industrialists and bankers: a close relationship with Lula that few other politicians today manage to have.
