247 - Finance Minister Fernando Haddad criticized the research methodology released by Genial/Quaest last Wednesday (19), which revealed alleged unpopularity among financial market agents.

During an interview with EBC, Haddad downplayed the results and criticized the survey's methodology, stating that the sample of 106 respondents is insufficient for an accurate analysis.

"To call this a survey is to give a very pompous name to something that must have been done in 15 minutes in a neighborhood. A survey with 100 people, you can't call that a survey. You do that at a bar," said the minister.

The figures released this week paint a picture of political and economic decline, amid the presentation of a bill that expands income tax exemptions and taxes the wealthiest. According to the survey, Haddad's negative approval rating in Faria Lima jumped from 24% to 58% in just three months. Furthermore, 85% of respondents say he has lost momentum since December 2024.

Haddad, however, insists that the data does not reflect reality and dismissed the research. "It's very different from a broad, technical survey that consults thousands of people. This was an informal consultation; it lacks representativeness," he stated.
