Haddad: 'Threats hanging over the country are becoming unbearable'
Former mayor Fernando Haddad, in his column this Saturday in Folha de S.Paulo, criticizes the relationship between Jair Bolsonaro's far-right government and the centrist bloc, as well as the appointments that the president makes of individuals nominated by this group.
247 - "The 'centrão' (center bloc), as is well known, has served several governments, always as a supporting player. Unable to present a project for the country, it acted as an auxiliary force for those who had a vision for the future, in exchange for positions within the public administration, an unfortunate consequence of our political-party system," writes Fernando Haddad in Folha de S.Paulo.
"This, however, is the first time that the centrist bloc has joined a government without a plan, a government that is pure movement, an expression of the inequality and intolerance that it itself cultivates and celebrates in the ecstatic reproduction of what was considered inadmissible, a government that acts in favor of what has always been established."
[...] "We Democrats can embrace different projects, but there is something that should unite us above all. The threats hanging over the country have become unbearable." concludes.
