The governor of Pará says that 50 people have already died at home from Covid and is considering a lockdown.

"These measures will be for cities that already have a high percentage of infections. Today, 18 municipalities in the state account for more than 95% of Covid-19 cases in Pará," said Helder Barbalho, regarding the tightening of measures to combat the coronavirus.

247 - The governor of Pará, Helder Barbalho, stated this Sunday, the 3rd, that there have already been approximately 50 deaths recorded at home in the last ten days in Pará.

"There's no justification for things not being faster. I've been demanding more from my team. The fact is that 10 days ago, we had an average of five deaths at home. And at this moment we are reaching 50 deaths at home. We are seeking to streamline this process, dialoguing with the Belém city hall, dialoguing with the doctors, with the forensic team, so that it can be faster," Barbalho told Globonews regarding the release of bodies by the Sespa Death Verification Service.

The governor also spoke about tightening isolation measures to contain the spread of Covid-19.

"All research indicates that we have between 45% and 50% isolation. That's very low. Last Friday, I made a final appeal. We are in the final stages of a project with significant restrictions, heading towards lockdown. These measures will not apply to the entire state. They will apply to cities that already have a high percentage of infections. Today, 18 municipalities in the state account for more than 95% of Covid-19 cases in Pará," stated Helder Barbalho.
