Mato Grosso governor promises to "go after" troublemakers on federal highways.
"We have no tolerance for error. If chaos ensues, we will respond with our security forces, as was done," declared Governor Otaviano Pivetta.
247 - In a press conference this Tuesday (22), the acting governor of Mato Grosso, Otaviano Pivetta, promised harsh treatment for Bolsonaro supporters who cause "disorder" on the state's federal highways. The information is from newspaper The globe.
“We really like democracy. We have no compromise with error. We respect peaceful, orderly demonstrations. If it turns into chaos, we will confront it with our security forces, as was done,” declared Pivetta.
The statement was given after a police operation that unblocked the highways, following acts of vandalism and crime amid protests against Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's victory at the polls.
According to the governor, "until Friday, the movements were peaceful, but then disorder began." This statement refers to the attack by Bolsonaro supporters on a base belonging to the Rota do Oeste concessionaire, responsible for a stretch of the BR-163 highway, and the arson attacks on three trucks.
