Gleisi raises her voice and rejects General Heleno: 'He will face criminal charges'

247 - The president of the PT (Workers' Party), Gleisi Hoffmann, said that General Heleno will have to answer criminally for his irresponsible statements. Gleisi asked, indignantly: "What unpredictable consequences for national stability are you referring to?"

On the official PT websiteGleisi's statements were compiled: "What unpredictable consequences for national stability are you referring to, General Heleno? (...) If this is a threat to democratic order, you will be held criminally responsible. If it is not, you need to come forward and clarify. We want to know what this phrase means."

The portal also highlights that “Heleno's comment also provoked reactions from politicians and representatives of civil society organizations, such as the Brazilian Bar Association. The president of the Federal Council of the OAB, Felipe Santos Cruz, criticized the GSI minister. “General Heleno, democratic institutions reject the anachronism of your statement. Leave 64 behind and try to contribute to 2020, if you can. If you can't, #stayhome,” he wrote on Twitter.”

And he adds: “The retired military officer reacted in a threatening manner when responding to the decision of Celso de Mello, rapporteur of the inquiry in the Supreme Federal Court investigating accusations by Sérgio Moro against President Jair Bolsonaro. The minister ordered the seizure of the cell phones of Bolsonaro and his son, Carlos Bolsonaro.”
