247 - Retired Army General Marcos Antônio Amaro, who previously headed the Institutional Security Office (GSI) of the Presidency of the Republic during the Dilma Rousseff (PT) administration, is being considered to take over the leadership of the agency. This information comes from journalist [name missing]. Andreia Sadi, in G1.

The position has been vacant since last week, when General Gonçalves Dias resigned after appearing in videos recorded by security cameras circulating among the Bolsonaro extremists who invaded and vandalized the Planalto Palace during the terrorist attacks of January 8th in Brasília. The executive secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, Ricardo Cappelli, has assumed the GSI on an interim basis.

According to the report, General Amaro is considered "a trustworthy person." It further states that "it was during the time when the general commanded presidential security, and the GSI (Institutional Security Office) was still responsible for this task, that Dilma said she evaded her security detail for a motorcycle ride around Brasília in August 2013."

According to the journalist's column Igor GadelhaAccording to Metrópoles, Lula and Amaro have already spoken, and government sources have said that they had a "great conversation," with the military officer signaling that he would accept "the mission" of taking command of the GSI.
