FUP files new lawsuit against Petrobras president

247 - The general coordinator of the Unified Federation of Oil Workers (FUP), José Maria Rangel, personally filed a class action lawsuit in the Federal Court of Rio de Janeiro against the president of Petrobras, Roberto Castello Branco, for administrative misconduct. According to the leader, the lawsuit questions the irregular appointment of Carlos Victor Nagem to the Executive Management of Intelligence and Corporate Security, which was based on the fact that he is a "personal friend" of President Jair Bolsonaro.

A reserve lieutenant commander in the navy, Nagem has been an employee of Petrobras for 11 years, but, according to FUP, he does not possess the qualifications required by Petrobras's Job and Salary Plan (PCR) to assume an executive management position.

The fact had already been reported by FUP to the Justice system, through a Public Civil Action filed on the 14th of last month (see here).

The 11th Federal Court of Rio de Janeiro invalidated the complaint on the grounds that the Federation lacked the legitimacy to file the lawsuit.

The new lawsuit alleging misconduct against the president of Petrobras is awaiting trial in the 18th Federal Court of the state.
