FUP (Unified Federation of Oil Workers) calls on the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office to investigate a possible link between jewelry given to Bolsonaro and the sale of a refinery in Bahia.

"We request the initiation of an investigation to assess any illegal practices involving the sale of the Landulpho Alves refinery for 50% of its market value," the complaint highlights.

247 - The Unified Federation of Oil Workers (FUP) has requested that the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) investigate the possible connection between the jewels, valued at R$ 16,5 million, given by the Saudi monarchy to the couple Jair and Michelle Bolsonaro, and the sale of the Landulpho Alves Refinery (RLAM), in Bahia, to Mubadala Capital, an Arab fund from the United Arab Emirates, for US$ 1,8 billion.

The representation for opening a public civil inquiry and legal action was forwarded to the MPF this Tuesday (7). The complaint highlights that Petrobrás announced the sale of RLAM on November 30, 2021, just over a month after Jair Bolsonaro made a trip to the Middle East.

“We request the initiation of an investigation to assess any illegal practices involving the sale of the Landulpho Alves refinery for 50% of its market value,” highlights a passage from the complaint signed by the general coordinator of FUP, Deyvid Bacelar.

“We are facing a suspicion. Is there a connection between the sale of Rlam below market value and these jewels? This doubt deserves, at the very least, an investigation to be carried out by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office. The jewels were not declared as public property,” he emphasized.

The document also highlights that an assessment by the Institute for Strategic Studies of Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels (Ineep) estimated the refinery's value to be between US$3 billion and US$4 billion.
