Founder of the Luft Group is suspected of financing the January 8th scammers.

Mario Luft, from one of the largest logistics groups in Brazil, is suspected of financing the transport and leading the Bolsonaro-supporting coup plotters.

247 - Businessman Mário Ari Luft, 80, founder of the Luft Group, one of the main players in the logistics sector in Brazil, was one of the targets of the search and seizure warrants executed by the Federal Police (PF) as part of the operation. 23th phase of Operation Lesa Pátria this Wednesday (24). According to the newspaper The GlobeMário Luft is suspected of financing the transportation and leading protesters in the coup-mongering acts of January 8th of last year, when Bolsonaro supporters and far-right militants invaded and vandalized the headquarters of the Three Powers in Brasília.

In total, the Federal Police executed three search and seizure warrants this Wednesday as part of the warrants issued in the 23rd phase of Operation Lesa Pátria, which were only carried out this Wednesday for investigative convenience. According to the report, one of the targets also works with the founder of the Luft Group, but their identity was not revealed. 

Mário Luft is a native of Santa Rosa (RS) and founded the logistics firm in 1975, consolidating the group as a benchmark in cargo transportation and warehousing for various sectors, including agribusiness, and the health and retail markets. According to the Federal Police, Luft allegedly financed buses to transport protesters to Brasília and actively participated in guiding coup-plotting movements alongside other leaders.

According to the Federal Police, the facts under investigation constitute, in theory, crimes such as violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup d'état, criminal association, and incitement to crime.
