At the request of the Regional Federal Court of the 1st Region, the border between Roraima and Venezuela was opened. The information was confirmed by the 1st Federal Court of Roraima. According to the Federal Police station in Pacaraima, the order began to be implemented around 10 am this Tuesday (7).
According to the 1st Federal Court, the decision from the TRF-1 (Regional Federal Court of the 1st Region) was received this morning, addressed to Federal Judge Helder Girão Barreto, who is responsible for the injunction that ordered the closure of the border, under the justification of preventing the entry of immigrants from that country.
The decision by the TRF-1 responds to an appeal by the Attorney General's Office (AGU), which appealed yesterday (6) against the injunction granted by Barreto. In a statement, the AGU informed that the TRF-1 recognized “serious violation of public and legal order”, previously pointed out by it, and that the suspension of the entry of immigrants contradicts the main objective of the action filed by the Federal Public Ministry and the Public Defender's Office of the Union.
