Flávio says Moraes' "personal mission" is to remove Bolsonaro from public life.

247 - Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) accused Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes of acting on a "personal mission" aimed at removing former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) from political life. The statement came amidst an analysis of the enforcement of precautionary measures imposed by the magistrate on the former president, which includes the possibility of Bolsonaro's preventive detention within the context of the investigation into an alleged coup attempt.

"Unconstitutional, illegal, and immoral. Alexandre de Moraes urgently needs medical help. He no longer hides his persecution of Bolsonaro and has destroyed democracy to fulfill his personal mission of trying to remove him from public life, cowardly using his pen," the senator stated in an interview with... CNN Brazil.

Jair Bolsonaro has faced judicial restrictions since he became the subject of an investigation into coup plots. On Monday (21), Moraes ruled that he could not use social media, directly or indirectly. The decision was prompted by a statement Bolsonaro made to the press, which was widely publicized, raising questions about possible non-compliance with the measure.

Shortly after a meeting with allied parliamentarians in Congress, Bolsonaro displayed the electronic ankle monitor he is required to wear and declared that he only recognizes "God's law," in defiance of the court decision. According to a technical assessment, this restriction would, in practice, prevent him from giving interviews or making public statements without risking further judicial sanctions.

The former president's defense presented a justification to the Supreme Court arguing that Bolsonaro "never considered" himself prevented from giving interviews. The lawyers asked Alexandre de Moraes to clarify the exact limits of the precautionary measure, pointing out ambiguities in the wording of the decision.
