247 - Former President Fernando Henrique Cardoso (PSDB), one of the architects of the 2016 coup against President Dilma Rousseff, announced this Tuesday (25) that he will vote for João Doria (PSDB) for president in the October elections.
"I have already had the opportunity to express my support for the gubernatorial candidate João Doria and his presidential candidacy, a position backed by my party," FHC said on Twitter.
The former PSDB president has already stated that he would vote for former president Lula against Jair Bolsonaro. "If there is, and I hope there isn't, this dichotomy of either [Fernando] Haddad or Bolsonaro, or someone from the PT, logically, who is reasonable, or Bolsonaro, I would vote more against Bolsonaro," he stated in an interview with UOL.
According to columnist Lauro Jardim, Lula and FHC are expected to meet this week.The meeting is part of the former Workers' Party president's effort to increasingly broaden the dialogue with various sectors of Brazilian and world politics.
