FAB: Transportation of AGU chief followed “formal and legal” procedures.
The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) released a statement saying that the flight transporting the Attorney General of the Union, Fabio Medina Osório, to Curitiba (PR), on June 1st, "followed all formal and legal procedures"; Osório allegedly caused problems for the government by attempting to use his position to obtain a FAB jet at the Brasília air base to travel to Curitiba; according to the statement, after requesting an aircraft for the transfer to the Paraná capital, an aircraft was available and the journey took place "without any interference from external bodies in its execution".
247 The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) released a statement saying that the flight that transported the Attorney General of the Union, Fabio Medina Osório, to Curitiba (PR), on June 1st, "followed all formal and legal procedures."
According to reporting by Estadão, Osório is in a critical situation within Michel Temer's government for two reasons: first, because at the Brasília air base, he attempted to use his position to obtain a Brazilian Air Force jet to travel to Curitiba.
The government also holds him responsible for the problems that occurred at EBC, with the illegal dismissal of president Ricardo Melo and the equally illegal appointment of journalist Laerte Rimoli, who began dismantling the company, a process interrupted by a decision from Minister Dias Toffoli. Osório said that the news about his possible dismissal is "speculation" (see here).
In a statement signed by Air Brigadier Ary Soares Mesquita, head of the Air Force's Social Communication Center, the FAB (Brazilian Air Force) says that fulfilling Osório's request "followed the guidelines contained in Presidential Decrees No. 4.244, of May 22, 2002; and No. 8.432, of April 9, 2015, which establish the rules and priorities for the transportation of high-ranking federal government officials."
