As a strategy to attract the votes of the evangelical electorate, which largely allied itself with Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in 2018, former president Lula (PT), leading in all electoral polls, wants to focus on the economic agenda, reports the State St. Paul.

The Workers' Party member will try to avoid topics sensitive to this audience. such as abortion and drug legalization, and focus on inflation, high cost of living, and unemployment.

Lula managed to maintain a good relationship with evangelicals while president. There was dialogue with the Ferreira family's Assembly of God in Rio and the Universal Church, led by Bishop Edir Macedo.

The support of evangelicals is seen as essential by all potential presidential candidates, as they represent 30% of the population, according to surveys.
